This last week has been filled with day trips as the Fashion Mister and I have finally been able to find time for friends during the silly season!
In the lead up to Christmas, I was working… A LOT! However, we the week of New Year’s to make time for catching up on seeing friends and we had a great time. Part of our couple days in Melbourne to see “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum” was spent with one of the Fashion Mister’s friends. They have known each other for about 30 years and these days are only able to catch up about once a year. Luckily, I got to go along for the ride!
We started by heading to Melbourne to meet our friend for lunch. Melbourne is about 1 1/2 hours from where we live and is one of my favourite cities in the world. But then you know that if you have been following. We were heading to Parliament House for lunch. They have a really nice restaurant that is open to the public when parliament isn’t in session. My instructions had been to wear a tiara, however as I am NOT a royalist, I opted for a professional look with a little personality.
Meeting at Parliament House: I opted to wear a pair of cream coloured linen pants from Ralph Lauren. Love the colour, fit and the nice wide leg with a cuff. My top is from my breaking of my 90 day shopping fast and is a vintage piece I purchased via Etsy.com back in June. To add a bit more personality I wore my orange wedges, yet to keep it professional I went with my Coach handbag, Marc Jacobs rose-gold watch and rose gold earrings.
Water Bubbles: This fountain is about a block away from Parliament House and seemed like a nice spot to stop for a photo. I like how the spray actually creates giant water bubbles. It hadn’t gotten stinking hot yet on this day so I wasn’t too tempted to run around like a kid in the spray.
This is just the start. Tomorrow there will be more about finding time for friends during the silly season. Including this lovely little bar we went to after lunch.
