Todays look at my Spring style 2012 is all about seeing red. But not full on red, just a hint.
As these photos were taken on a day that I didn’t work, I was able to wear some of my favourite things. Although I can, and do, wear red to work I don’t get to wear blue jeans to work. So todays look is just for me! I often sneak denim into my work looks in the form of skinny jeans but sometimes nothing beats a pair of the old faded blues.
These are a few of my Favourite Things: Yes, they really are some of my favourite things. In fact, if I could wear this look to work I would just about live in it! I am lucky enough that most of it I can, but it’s just not the same without the worn and faded jeans. This pair is a little too big but I wear them because I can’t resist how comfortable they are. Of course I have on a pair of my trusty cowboy boots. I could have worn the red ones but thought that would be too matchy-matchy. I’ve got a red cardigan on, buttoned all the way up and being worn as a shirt with a blazer over top and a leopard print scarf to give the look a little personality. I got the scarf in my gift bag when I attended the Wittner Shoe Runway at Melbourne Spring Fashion Week last month. And right up front is my HUGE red Guess bag that I have been wearing for about 5 or 6 years now. It was about $200, which seemed expensive at the time but considering the fact that I have probably used it at least 1000 times, the cost-per-wear is 20 cents! Bargain!
Hints of Red: I rolled up the sleeves on the blazer which left the sleeves of the cardigan hanging out. So I cuffed the cardigan sleeves up over the blazer to add an extra pop of colour.
Red, Leopard and Bling: I wrapped the scarf back and then around to the front, using the length to tie a loose mens tie effect and then finished that off with an old clip on earring that had been my grandmothers. I have never owned both of the earrings as one went missing before I was born but I like to clip this one on to lapels and scarves when I need just a little bling going on.
Now you have had a good look at the style I would wear every day if I could. probably the truest, core representation of my style.
There will be more red sightings this Spring and summer. Hope you don’t get tired of Seeing Red!

Thank you Jensine,

Hi Claudia,
I bought it at the Guess store about 6 or 7 years ago and it has been with every cent.
Trouble has been finding a replacement.

I am starting to really like red, but on me, I think it is best in small amounts! What you chose looks great. Love the bag and how you styled the scarf! Can’t wait to see more red.
