As promised in yesterdays Fashion vs. Home, we are continuing our look at “blue”berry month and using it to inspire a fashion vs. food face-off!
All of this attention on “blue”berries is making me hungry!
But I have really been inspired by the colours in this palette. I think they work equally well for any season.
And as seen from this collection the colours work as well dressed up or dressed down. My favourite is the boyfriend jeans and white jacket. To make it work more with the “blue”berry inspiration I would wear my brown suede boots and carry my white and brown Coach handbag. Then I would only need to find a great set of blueberry doors to hangout in front of!
So do you have room for one more taste of “blue”berry inspired fashion versus food?
This face-off is all about the pale washed out neutrals of each photo and then the “blue”berry pop. Creamy whites, pale neutrals and silver all work well with the “blue”berry colour palette.
I hope you have found all this attention on “Blue”berry Month to be a bit of fun and a little inspirational no matter if your interests are fashion, food or decorating.
It may be grey outside but all this “blue”berry inspiration has cheered me up.
Would you like to see more of these Fashion vs. Home and Fashion vs. Food articles?
Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
Laura

I love the last look

It’s definitely a classic.
I would wear a pencil skirt at least twice a week and I love the neutral colour paired with the brighter blue.

For some reason I had gone away from blue but have been really drawn to blueberry and robins egg blue lately. Perhaps I’m thinking of Spring! Glad you liked the post.

We choose certain colors because they make us feel and look good, or they nutritious. Generally we like to dress and decorate our homes in the same colors that makes us feel and look good. Fashion, home and food is all one concept relate to one another.

Valentina,
That is exactly the lesson I taught my friend Sarah.
And thought if she needed/wanted to learn it then perhaps others would too so the idea for the articles has been born.

this was so cute i love how well it all tied together
also love the cool palette, very casual and chilled, just how I like it
July 13th, 2012 at 07:06
Thanks Gem!
It is a great palette for being casual and chilled.
And that is the way to be…although it’s so chilly here I don’t need to work to hard at that part!
Glad you like the idea of taking inspiration for fashion from food.

Love blueberries, the food and the palette. As blueberries are the only true blue food, AND a certified “superfood” it should only be fitting for it to inspire!
July 13th, 2012 at 07:11
Good point!
Superfood = superfashion!
I also did an article where it inspired home decor so it must truly be super.

Who would of thought to pair food with fashion… brilliant and fun!
July 13th, 2012 at 17:07
Thanks Kristen!
I guess with food and fashion being two of my favourite things, it seemed so natural.
But it was an extention of teaching my friend Sarah about fashion using her home decorator mind.
So we also did Fashion vs. Home

I found you through Truth and Cake. What a fun concept! I love the colors I see in food but never thought to compare it with fashion. My little blog is full of food photos- interesting to look at them in a new and inspiring way. Thanks!
July 13th, 2012 at 17:10
Thanks for taking the time to stop around and check things out!
I think if something is appealing visually I should be able to apply the concept to other things and have them turn out equally appealing.
Whether it be food, fashion or home decor.
One of the other tricks I use is “if mother nature puts it together, it’s got to be good!” It’s a great philosophy for colour mixing.
I’m heading over to your blog to check out your food pics and see if anything inspires me…either to cook or shop!
Cheers,
Laura

I’m hungry now… and have a strange hankering for a new pair of blue shoes…
Thanks for sharing! (Though I don’t think Mr. Whine will thank you if I act on the latter impulse!)
July 15th, 2012 at 09:20
Make him some blueberry muffins.
Once his belly is full he may not notice the shoes!

Thanks Neena,
So glad you came over from T & C!
I had a lot of fun using food as a starter (no pun intended) for this article about Food vs Fashion.
And blueberry month was a great month to start with because the colour palette is so nice.

Throw in some waffles, and I’m on the food wagon!
July 18th, 2012 at 17:50
LOL!
I’m with you Anna!
Love a good waffle…how all the little pockets hold on to the melted butter…YUM!
That is one wagon that would be weighed down by all the waffles in my belly.
Cheers,
Laura
