The next item from My Lust Have List Haul to share with you is the Denim Jacket.
I had budgeted $100 for this item and got it for $6.99! So it was definitely one of my biggest bargains. Even though I had researched lots of options and many that were really affordable, I just couldn’t resist picking up this denim jacket from a local Thrift Shop.
You would be hard pressed to go into any thrift shop and not find a couple of denim jacket options and the price just can’t be beat!
Considering the original True Religion inspiration was about $300…I think I did okay.
My version is not quite as distressed but give me time. I’m sure I will wear it enough to get far more than my 7 bucks out of it and it will become more distressed!
This is going to be a great asset to my wardrobe.

Denim on Denim Street Style – This first look is a denim on denim look using the denim jacket and white denim pants. With the addition of my vintage paisley shirt, black handbag and white metal capped toe shoes – all from this haul – this look is very similar to what you see many fashionistas wearing in their Street Style posts. I added my big white watch and pearl and beaded necklace (both from Hong Kong) to play up the white. It’s a great look for getting around town, some shopping and coffee with the bestie.
Denim Does Autumn - I like the autumnal shades of this look. You’ll recall I have a huge passion for Tangerine Tango (all things orange) and think that orange, blue and camel make for great colour combinations. Here’s just another example of that. For this look I have used the camel with metallic thread jumper – purchased from another Thrift Shop (St Vinnies), my burnt orange skinny jeans, the new gold statement necklace, one of the vintage scarves from this haul, a stack of brown, gold and ivory coloured bracelets and the Jessica Simpson wedges from TJ Maxx. Again a great outfit for getting out and about or casual dinner and a movie.
70s Inspired Denim – It’s a bit boho, a little Coachella and a whole lot of casual. This third look has the denim jacket and the same camel coloured jumper as the previous look but the styling of this look has gone even more relaxed. The printed maxi skirt, brown leather sack-style handbag, brown felt hat and massive mustard coloured cork-heeled wedges bring this look right back to the 70s! Add in the long beaded necklace, a stack of neutral and gold bracelets and huge HUGE gold earrings and the look is complete.
I’m really pleased with this Denim Jacket from My Lust Have List Haul. I hope I don’t wear it out too soon. Maybe I should start checking out the thrift shops for another!

Thanks!
They started because I wanted to show styled outfits but hate having my pic taken. Olga from DesignChickee calls is my “Floor Fashion”.

Paula,
I think I like the white jeans version best with the 70s version a close second. Must be the 60s paisley print shirt that gets me as I was ‘born in the 60s’ !
Cheers,
Laura

Love a denim jacket for throwing on over dresses! I always carry mine in the car just in case a dinner or party is less formal than I’d expected.

That’s a really good idea Melissa!
And I love when you have something really dressy that is matched with something very casual.
It makes for a great “look”.
Thanks again for the tip!
Cheers,
Laura

If you want your jacket more distressed, you can always take a cheese grater, steel wool, sandpaper, etc., to it! I’ve distressed jeans that way (and they were my absolute FAVORITE pair!!) Just prepare to throw some elbow grease into it

I’m just trying to decide how much I want it distressed. And maybe a little worried that I’ll get it wrong…ehcih seems silly since I only paid $7 for the jacket!

Love this. The jacket and dress are my favorite but love all the looks. Denim jackets are such a must have!

Definitely agree!
I think everyone should own one because they are so versatile.

HI Laura, great how you mixed the denim jacket, I have also several things in denim and you can create a lot of beautiful stilish clothes mixing them quite well with classic or make them also country !

I love that it can be casual but I have seen a denim jacket over a beautiful long and flowy dress and it adds a bit of personality to the look.
It’s the versatility that makes it a must have.
Plus it’s a classic!
Cheers,
Laura
